Having been both a gamer and DM for the past two decades, I love D&D and sales like these make it easy to expand my adventure library or pick up extra rulebooks for new players who join my campaigns.
So what should beginners look at? Well, I highly recommend getting one Player’s Handbook at $15.99. It’s an incredible value for a book that usually costs over $60. I would also recommend getting a Dungeon Master’s Guide for your group and additional adventure Dragon strike it’s perfect for characters of levels 1 to 5.
More experienced DMs should take a look Curse of Strahd e Out of the abyssas they are incredibly fun adventures… but they require some preparation and strong improv skills to keep your adventurers entertained and engaged.
If you are looking for something like D&D without improv and RPG, Gloomhaven: The Jaws of the Lion, also on sale on Amazon for $34.99 (opens in a new tab) is a truly excellent board game that mirrors many D&D concepts and doesn’t require a DM.
