The monument of the musician and composer Gustavo Cerati that Argentina donated to Costa Rica For the bicentennial of its independence, it was already located in the Plaza de las Artes in San José, Costa Rica.
The act of final placement of the sculpture “Always is today“, made by the Argentine artist Martin DiGirolamowas headed by the Argentine ambassador in Costa Rica, Luis Eugenio Bellandowho assured before authorities of the Central American nation that the fact constitutes “a moment of expansion of the heart of Argentina towards Costa Rica for the bicentennial of its independence.”
“This concrete gesture only confirms the bond of brotherhood between our countries, which on this occasion is embodied in the cultural affinity that allows the art of Gustavo Cerati and his legendary band Soda Stereo to be appreciated from this moment on in Costa Rica,” said Bellando, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The ceremony was attended by the mayor of San José, Johnny Araya Monge; the Minister of Culture, Nayuribe Guadamuz; Vice Chancellor Christian Guillermet; the Vice Minister of Justice and Peace, Sergio Sevilla; Argentine community, accredited diplomatic corps, and deputies of the Legislative Assembly.
“It is always today” is 2.30 meters high and was modeled in clay on a metal structure built with welded iron profiles.
