Apple’s mixed reality glasses have been in the news since they were announced to the company’s board of directors. They will arrive in the world a long time behind similar products from direct competitors. But at least they will have unique functions. In this sense, Apple’s glasses, which have not yet been shown publicly, will be able to scan the iris of the eyes.
As The Information has published, and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo advanced, iris recognition will make it easier for several people to use the same device and allow them to make payments quickly using the glasses. It will be a technology very similar to that of Face ID or touch recognition.

If the report, which cites two people involved in the device’s development, turns out to be correct, the presence of the new eye-scanning system would be an advantage over Meta’s recently announced Quest Pro, which doesn’t have this feature. The Quest Pro features inward-facing cameras that can track eye and face movement, but doesn’t use them for authentication. At least for now.

Another advantage of Apple’s glasses would be the tracking of the legs. In this sense, two of the 14 cameras that the device will have will be focusing down. Meta glasses will only have a dozen cameras and none will focus on the legs.
an exorbitant price
There is no official date for the release of Apple glasses yet. They were expected to arrive in late 2022, however numerous leaks point to a release of the highly anticipated headset sometime in 2023.
On the other hand, it is estimated that the price of Apple’s mixed reality glasses is between 2,000 and 2,500 euros, a very high price. But this would be the expensive version. One of the analysts’ rumors assures that a more economically accessible model will be added to this first launch, whose launch would take place in the year 2025.
