The San Francisco Police (California) has just arrested the suspect in the murder of Bob Lee, a technology entrepreneur who founded the popular Cash App mobile payment service application and who was currently product director of the MobileCoin firm.

This is Nima Momeni, another man who worked in a technology company. Both, according to the first indications, knew each other, although the authorities have not wanted to give more details about what happened until the investigation progresses.

The suspect is Nima Momeni, 38, who owns a company called Expand IT Momeni

“Our investigators identified the suspect as 38-year-old Nima Momeni of Emeryville, California. We can confirm that Lee and Momeni knew each other. However, we are unable to provide further details at this time,” San Francisco Police Chief William Scott, at a press conference held this Thursday.

Both worked in the technology sector. Local media indicate that Momeni is the owner of a company called Expand IT Momeni. Bob Lee, who was stabbed to death at age 43 early April 4 near downtown San Francisco, was a product manager at MobileCoin, a San Francisco-based cryptocurrency startup, and worked at Google and Square.

During his appearance, the San Francisco Police Chief noted that “Momeni was arrested without incident in Emeryville.” “He was transported to the San Francisco County Jail and charged with one count of murder,” he added, though he said he couldn’t give more information because the case is not yet closed.

The authorities deny that the crime responded to a spiral of crimes in San Francisco. “I must point out that reckless and irresponsible statements, such as those contained in Mr. Musk’s tweet that assumed the incorrect circumstances of Mr. Lee’s death, serve to mislead the world in its perception of San Francisco,” said the prosecutor for San Francisco. San Francisco district, Brooke Jenkins.

Jenkins was referring to a tweet Musk sent just hours after Lee’s death: “Violent crime in San Francisco is appalling and even if the attackers are caught they are often released immediately. Is the city taking stronger action to incarcerate repeat violent offenders?

According to local media reports, that night the two were driving together through downtown San Francisco in a car registered to the suspect.

Surveillance video caught Lee stumbling through downtown streets, clutching his side as he left a trail of blood behind him, the aftermath of the stabbing he had received.

Momeni, detained and the main suspect in Lee’s murder, owns a company called Expand IT Momeni, according to local media. This man describes himself as an information technology consultant and entrepreneur on his LinkedIn page.
