Acer’s new stationary bike allows you to charge your devices by pedaling while you work

    adminBy adminJanuary 7, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Working can become a very sedentary task. Sitting for many hours, without making any movement and snacking on something from time to time. From Acer they want to end this unhealthy routine, and within the framework of CES 2023 they have presented an exercise bike that recharges all kinds of devices.

The Taiwanese manufacturer has created this kind of desk, named eKinekt BD 3, for people who want to work while exercising, or vice versa.

The key to this device is that it uses the force of pedaling to feed a generator that produces electrical energy while the user continues to exercise. In this way, “an hour of constant pedaling at 60 RPM on the desk can generate 75 watts of self-generated power.” All this power should be enough to fully charge a laptop or mobile.

To make the bike as comfortable as possible there are two modes: work and sport. In the first, the desk is moved closer to the chair so that the user can sit upright while typing and pedaling. In the other, it allows free movement to be able to lean and pedal as usual in this type of sports machine, to which the resistance can also be changed.

The Acer eKinekt BD3 is not yet available. We will have to wait until June of this year to be able to buy it in North America and Europe for 999 dollars and 999 euros, respectively.
