The only thing missing is for someone to design an application to carry the DNI, the document that is recommended to carry every time we leave home. At the moment, the alternative is to physically carry it in the wallet or in the smartphone case.
We will not be able to carry the DNI on the mobile until the National Police completes the app for its integration. The announcement was made in 2020 and this year the Ministry of the Interior reaffirmed that it would design an application for that purpose. The new virtual format will allow citizens to access their data stored in the DNI file and accredit themselves with the same validity as if they were using the physical document. However, the holder indicated a possible reason for his delay, the necessary modification of the community regulation that regulates electronic identification and electronic transactions in the internal market. While waiting for the app to carry the DNI on the mobile, the closest thing we have in our country is miDGT, a free mobile application to carry the driver’s license and vehicle documentation in digital format.
