Black Friday gaming deals were surprisingly quiet. But with the Xbox Series S dropping to its lowest price ever, that all changed.
The Xbox Series S is now just $234 at Dell (opens in new tab). That’s an additional $15 off the $249 price tag we saw at retailers this holiday season. While it’s too early to tell for sure, this could be the lowest price we see this year for this next-generation console.
Update: This deal is out of stock, but you can get the Xbox Series S for $274 at Walmart (opens in new tab).
The Xbox Series S is basically the little brother of the flagship Xbox Series X. It’s noticeably less powerful but still a great gaming machine. Plus, he can play all the same games as his older brother. This makes it an ideal console to access the vast library of titles included in Xbox Game Pass, including recently released titles such as Pentiment and A Plague Tale Requiem.
In our Xbox Series S review, we praised it for its “gorgeous graphics and huge game selection” despite its relative lack of horsepower. We also liked its cheaper price compared to the Xbox Series X, which costs $499. Now, thanks to this Black Friday deal, the console is an even bigger deal.
In all honesty, the Xbox Series S has a few drawbacks. It’s not as powerful as the Series X or PS5, and it can’t hit the same performance and resolution benchmarks as those consoles. Also, its stock 512GB SSD will fill up really fast. It’s also not the most future-proof console, so if you want a console for the long haul you might want to splurge on the Xbox Series X instead.
However, if your budget is a little tight this year or you’re just looking to play the latest games on Xbox Game Pass, the Xbox Series S is definitely a great choice. So go ahead and grab one at its lowest price ever from Dell now before they sell out. So, be sure to check out our Black Friday deals hub for even more great deals.
