Finally, KatieJames arrives with her music on Argentine stages.
Colombian-Irish singer-songwriter Katie James arrives for the first time in Argentina to meet the local public and present his repertoire of his own songs and versions of Latin American music in a series of concerts that will cover the cities of Buenos Aires, La Plata and Mar del Plata.
“For years I have wanted to go to Argentina. His music really catches my attention. Not only the tango, which is what is best known internationally, but also the Argentine zambas! I love, for example, the Duo Salteño”Katie James, who has a musical career of more than 15 years and followers in different parts of the world, told Télam.
In her songs, the singer, who recently collaborated with Carlos Vives, whose respective video clip will soon be released, combines elements of Latin American folklore with airs of blues, jazz, country and Irish folklore.
Regarding this first visit to Argentina and her link with the country, Katie indicated: “In my band in Colombia I play with Rafa Lozina, an Argentine percussionist and the musical connection with him is absolute. Many Argentine musicians arrive in Colombia and many go there from here”.
“I think there is an important artistic exchange to which I now join; It is almost unnecessary to mention the giants like Mercedes Sosa, Soda Stereo or Fito Páez whom I have listened to since I can remember; this will surely be the first of many trips to Argentina”he added.
The local tour will start on Thursday and next Saturday, at 10:30 p.m. at the Border theater, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, and will continue on November 17 at 9:00 p.m. in the city of La Plata (Metro theater), and on November 19 at 9:30 p.m. in Mar del Plata (Roberto J. Payró room) with Lucía Albornoz in the opening.

She will also sing on Friday at 8 pm as a special guest at the Yasmín Occhiuzzi concert at Bebop Club (Uriarte 1658) and on November 14, also at 8 pm, as a guest of La Bomba de Tiempo at Ciudad Cultural Konex (Sarmiento 3031).
Of an English mother and an Irish father, Katie James was born on a small island in Ireland called Inishfree, but her first memories are of the Colombian mountains in the department of Tolima. on the estate where he grew up and lived into his teens with an Anglo-Irish eco-community founded by his mother.
In 2019 his song “Well Packed Toitico” went around the world in an unprecedented viral phenomenon for the bambuco genre, which made her music reach new ears and Katie landed on new stages.
In 2022 she was invited by Carlos Vives to compose and perform the song “En la selva” with him.a bambuco with a vallenato sound included in the record production “Cumbiana II”.
Throughout his career he released four albums and performed concerts in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, the United States, Mexico, Italy, Holland and Scotland.
To celebrate her Colombian nationality, granted in April 2022, Katie is presenting her new album “Verses not to forget!a selection of songs that pay homage to the music of his adoptive land.
