The tenth generation iPad represents the updating of the basic Apple tablet, which has unified its design with the superior models, iPad Pro and iPad Air, and which finally includes a USB-C connector instead of Lighting. Thus, the central button that characterized the original iPad disappears and the construction is all aluminum. The new iPad has somewhat increased its screen size, like that of the iPad Air, up to 10.9 inches and, at first glance, it is indistinguishable unless one looks at the colors.
There are more differences. The new iPad carries the A14 Bionic chip while the iPad Air uses the superior M1. The latter’s screen is better, because it has an anti-glare coating, although most users will hardly notice it. The former is only compatible with the first generation Apple Pencil and the latter can use the second generation.

The necessary switch to USB-C has, however, led to a somewhat strange, seemingly un-Apple solution for connecting/charging the first-generation Apple Pencil. The pointer was loaded to the previous models connected to the Lightning of the iPad. When moving to the new connector, Apple has devised an adapter accessory, which costs 10 euros, which, being female at both ends, requires a cable in between.

Another of the new solutions for this model is a new Magic Keyboard Folio keyboard, similar to those of the iPad Pro/Air and made up of two pieces. It needs a bit of space behind, to lean against a protruding tongue. Practical for writing on a table, but less so if you do it on your knees, as sometimes happens when working in modality.

The new iPad was the update that Apple needed to give to the iPad, the original tablet that changed the concept of what tablets should be. The price of the new iPad starts at 579 euros. The previous version will continue to be sold for 429 euros.
