Elon Musk hints that he will change the Twitter logo

Tesla CEO and owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, has commented in recent hours that he is looking to change the Twitter logo, tweeting: “And soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and gradually to all the birds.”

In a tweet posted at 04:06 (GMT) on Sunday, the billionaire CEO added: “If a good enough X logo is released tonight, we’ll release it worldwide tomorrow.”

Musk posted an image of a blinking X, but did not elaborate. Asked by the Reuters agency, the company did not want to comment on it.

Under Musk’s tumultuous tenure since he bought Twitter in October, the company has changed its business name to X Corp, reflecting the billionaire’s vision of creating a “super app” like China’s WeChat.

Twitter’s website says its logo, depicting a blue bird, is “our most recognizable asset,” adding: “That’s why we’re so protective of it.”

The bird was temporarily replaced in April by Dogecoin’s Shiba Inu dog, which ended up helping to revalue the meme coin’s market value by as much as $4 billion.

Musk has laid off more than half his staff to cut costs since he bought the company

Twitter’s latest complication was a lawsuit filed Tuesday alleging the company owes at least $500 million in severance pay for firing employees.
