The Minister of Economy and candidate for president for the Union for the Homeland (UxP), Sergio Massa, asked this Monday for an accompaniment of the electorate in this year’s elections and a “chance“to whom “lost trust”with the guarantee that the ruling front is willing to “Acknowledge mistakes, apologize and fight for the Homeland”.
“To those who lost their trust, give us the opportunity again. We are willing to work together, to recognize our mistakes, to apologize, but above all, to fight for our country,” said Massa in Paraná (Entre Ríos), where he inaugurated a neighborhood of 500 houses, whose construction had been paralyzed between 2015 and 2019 and which the current government finally reactivated with financing from the provincial (33%) and national (66%) governments.
The houses, located between Juan Báez and Selva de Montiel streets in the southern part of the Entre Ríos capital, were built in a non-traditional way, have a solar hot water tank and will soon have paving, drainage and a sewage treatment plant.
“Just as we have to improve our conditions in the big cities,” we must also “continue embracing our countryside, our productive interior because the interior of the interior is what always puts Argentina on its feet”expressed Massa in his speech.

In addition, while acknowledging that citizens had to go through “difficult times,” he asked for confidence because “the talent of our people, the wealth of the land, our energy and mineral resources” will allow “leave a better country for our children.”
In this framework, the national minister highlighted Entre Ríos as a province “beautiful, thriving, with identity, that spreads enthusiasm and that is part of the productive heart of Argentina”.
The rights to work, access to housing and education “are social equalizers,” warned Massa, remarking that these rights are valid “for life and and explain the role of the State when it comes to building equal opportunities and don’t cum.”
“When there are those who talk about adjustment and eliminating the State, what they are proposing is removing equal opportunities, that the State ceases to be the social network that protects that it is today”complete.
The presidential candidate recalled that when the avian flu and the drought broke out in the country – described as the worst in the last 60 years – the national State arrived “with $4.8 billion to sustain the productive chains.”

On the other hand, the minister stated that “everyone is concerned that the place where we live is sustainable so that the new generations do not suffer” and recalled that the government of former President Mauricio Macri “promised in 2016 and did not comply” with the construction of a sewage treatment”, which now “is going to be built”.
“Taking care of the environment – he said – is taking care of the place where we live to leave a better future for our children; a wonderful country that needs us to engage in dialogue and with firm leadership to move it forward definitively,” he reflected.
Furthermore, he insisted: “We have had difficult times and every time the difficult one appears, I am not one of those who hide, I am one of those who goes to the front because I love my country.”
Governor Gustavo Bordet pointed out that between 2015 and 2019 “all housing programs were paralyzed” and, for this reason, he started a program with provincial funds, although “a plan with a larger scale was needed to reduce the housing deficit gap
“Today those who prophesy and give classes on how to solve problems are the same ones who did not want to or could not do what they come to promise,” said the provincial president and asserted that “the path is marked and we must go in that direction.”
