Coach Cristian “Kily” González began his cycle at the head of the Unión de Santa Fe squad this Wednesday, after the controversial departure of Sebastián Méndez to direct Vélez Sarsfield, in the first of two days of work that he will have before Friday’s game against Atlético Tucumán, for the 22nd. date of the Professional Football League (LPF).
The 48-year-old coach from Rosario led his initial practice at the Casasol property after being introduced to his managers together with his field assistants Tomás Costa and Ricardo Dealberto, the physical trainers Damián Hernández and Diego Rousse, and the video analyst Milton Rodríguez.

After the departure of Méndez, communicated on Sunday morning, the Unión leadership had as a priority the hiring of Diego Martínez, who declined the offer, for which the arrival of González was activated, who was available after being fired from Central on March 20 of last year after losing the classic to Newell’s Old Boys.
The coach has all the players available, so he could repeat the team that comes from beating Independiente (3-0) on the previous date, which he formed with Sebastián Moyano; Federico Vera, Nicolás Paz, Franco Calderón, Claudio Corvalán and Kevin Zenón; Enzo Roldán, Yeison Gordillo and Mauro Luna Diale; Imanol Machuca and Jerónimo Domina.

Union fans expressed their discomfort with Méndez with a parade at his new club
The fans of Unión de Santa Fe expressed their discomfort with Sebastián Méndez, who surprisingly resigned last Sunday to go to Vélez Sarsfield, with a parade placed at the entrance of the Olympic Village, where he trains with his new club.
“Méndez, traitor. We deserve something better,” was read in the parade placed on the bars next to the entrance gate, with the signature of Unión Popular.
The anger of the Union fans with Sebastián Méndez reached Liniers.
The “Gallego” Méndez left his place in a surprising way after the “tatengue” win against Independiente (3-0) last Saturday, despite the emotion shown at the post-match press conference.
The coach has already assumed his new position in the Liniers team, with the same goal he had in Santa Fe: to save his team from relegation in the general table.
Méndez spent ten games -one for the Argentine Cup- in Unión, with four wins, two draws and three losses.
