The Polo Obrero began a “federal piquetero march” with an act held in the town of Las Heras, in the province of Santa Cruz, and another in La Quiaca, in Jujuy, which will continue on Tuesday with actions in different parts of the country and the Wednesday night with a vigil in the Plaza de Mayo to finally come together on Thursday with the protest announced by the Piquetera Unit, the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP) and the National Territorial Federation (Fenat CTA-A).

Under the demand for “work and wages” and in rejection of “hunger and poverty”, the call of the Polo Obrero includes acts and mobilizations in “hundreds of cities” of the country to conclude on Thursday in the planned concentration from Plaza de Mayo to the Ministry of Social Development, in the center of Buenos Aires.

“From one end of the country to the other, literally from Ushuaia to La Quiaca, thousands of compañeros leave for the Plaza de Mayo to take our claims to the center of political power,” said the organization led by Eduardo Belliboni.

The schedule provides for a camp and vigil this Wednesday in Plaza de Mayo, in what will be the previous one to the “unitary march” called for this Thursday jointly with the Piquetera Unit, the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP), the Front of Organizations in Struggle and other social movements.

For now, the first milestone of the “federal piquetero march” started this Monday by the Polo Obrero was at 7 o’clock in La Quiaca, Jujuy province, and Las Heras, Santa Cruz province.

In addition, today actions were carried out in Formosa (in the provincial capital) and Chubut (in Comodoro Rivadavia) and at 5:00 p.m. protests are planned in San Nicolás and San Miguel de Tucumán.

For 6:00 p.m., also today, an event is planned in Neuquén, where the ceramicists from Zanon, teachers from the ATEN leadership, health workers and local unions will be present.

Meanwhile, the south-east column will leave at 8 am tomorrow from Caleta Olivia to Comodoro Rivadavia; the southwest column will do the same at the same time as Puelo, while in San Juan there will be an act at 9, in Corrientes and Chaco at 10, in La Rioja at 10:30, in Mendoza at 3, and in Rosario and Córdoba capital at 17.

At 6:00 p.m., in the city of Bahía Blanca, the south-east and south-west columns of Patagonia will unite, while at 7:00 p.m. Cuyo’s column will leave Mendoza and that of the Argentine Northeast.

Finally, after converging in the city of Buenos Aires on Wednesday at noon, the columns will march from Congress to Plaza de Mayo, where they plan to hold an act at 4:00 p.m. and then start a camp and vigil.

Finally, the members of the Polo Obrero will join the “unitary march” called for that day by the Piquetera Unit, UTEP, Fenap and other social movements on Thursday.
