The Polo Obrero began a “federal piquetero march” with an act held in the town of Las Heras, in the province of Santa Cruz, and another in La Quiaca, in Jujuy, which will continue on Tuesday with actions in different parts of the country and the Wednesday night with a vigil in the Plaza de Mayo to finally come together on Thursday with the protest announced by the Piquetera Unit, the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP) and the National Territorial Federation (Fenat CTA-A).
Under the demand for “work and wages” and in rejection of “hunger and poverty”, the call of the Polo Obrero includes acts and mobilizations in “hundreds of cities” of the country to conclude on Thursday in the planned concentration from Plaza de Mayo to the Ministry of Social Development, in the center of Buenos Aires.
“From one end of the country to the other, literally from Ushuaia to La Quiaca, thousands of compañeros leave for the Plaza de Mayo to take our claims to the center of political power,” said the organization led by Eduardo Belliboni.
