The Inspector General of Justice, Ricardo Nissen, filed a complaint against the Institute for Strategic Security Studies (IEES) of the leader and presidential candidate Patricia Bullrich for possible violations of the Political Party Financing Law.

The complaint, which fell to the judge Sebastián Ramos and the prosecutor Carlos Stornelli, includes the request for the displacement of the members of the board of directors of the Institute chaired by Bullrich, although it is currently on leave.

According to the document presented by Nissen, it was verified that the electoral module of the party led by Bulrrich, “Union for Liberty”, reached more than forty thousand pesos per person per year when the maximum amount of contributions in the Capital district is three thousand.

In the list of those involved in the alleged maneuver included deputy Gerardo Milman -denounced in the framework of the investigation of the attack on Vice President Cristina Kirchner-, in addition to Martin SyracuseIEES secretary, Silvia Turetzky, treasurer and Juan Pablo Arenazacurrent Buenos Aires legislator, Bullrich campaign manager and president of “Union for Liberty”.

The judicial file began in December 2022, when the newspapers Página 12 and El Cronista, among others, published that Bullrich organized meetings with businessmen to finance his campaign and that these donations were channeled through the civil association IEES.

“The information collected allows us to conclude that the civil association has carried out actions outside its corporate purpose and has been used for purposes other than those for which it was granted authorization to operate”Nissen pointed out in his complaint.

Another indication of irregularities would be for Nissen that the Institute also paid several phone lines owned by “Union for Liberty”.

The inspector also records the payment of flights to Salta de Bullrich, payment of expenses in different locations where the leader campaigned and a Trip to miami, United States, in which the presidential candidate participated in an event organized by the “Interamerican Institute for Democracy”.
