A man was arrested this Friday in Virrey del Pino as suspect in the theft of the car that was used by the criminals who participated in the crime of the bus driver Daniel Barrientosassassinated by a bullet last Monday in that Buenos Aires town of the La Matanza party.
Police and judicial sources confirmed that the arrest took place in the last few hours and that it is the fourth suspect arrested in the framework of the case for the murder of the 55-year-old bus driver, two of them as co-perpetrators of the crime and the other two for the theft of the Fiat Siena that is believed to have been used in the act and was found burned on the same Monday in the party of La Matanza.
The new prisoner was made available to the La Matanza Homicide prosecutor who is carrying out the investigation, Gastón Duplaá, who will question him in the next few hours.
Also in relation to the theft of the Fiat Siena, the prosecutor investigated the other detainee on Thursday, Fernando González, “alias” Pancho, who denied all the charges against him, both his connection to the theft of the car, and knowing the two arrested for the homicide of the driver.
Within the framework of the case, Duplaá maintains arrested as alleged co-perpetrators of the crime of “homicide criminis causa, aggravated by the use of a firearm, in a real competition with robbery aggravated by the use of a firearm” to Alex Gabriel Barone (19) y Gabriel Alejandro Barone (24), who denied the charges when investigated this week.

After the formal arrest of both, endorsed by the Justice of Guarantees of La Matanza, the representative of the Public Ministry awaits the results of the skin test studies and of the expert reports on seized phones to establish the roles that each of them played in the event, the judicial sources consulted told Télam.
Meanwhile, Duplaá look for a third suspect: the person who was driving in the car that waited for the criminals and helped them flee after the murder of Barrientos.
The Barrientos crime
The bus driver’s crime was committed on Monday after 4:30 a.m., when two criminals boarded the bus at the stop located at the intersection of Bernardino Escribano and Cullen, in the Vernazza neighborhood.
Under threats with weapons, the thieves stole a passenger’s backpack and then shot at the driver despite the fact that he offered no resistance, who died on the spot.
